
A house destroyed by the earthquake in Bajura.
10th January, Dhangadhi. There has been a problem in collecting the details of the damage caused by the earthquake in the border area of Himali Rural Municipality of Bajura and Tajakot Rural Municipality of Humla.
Preliminary information has been received that some houses were destroyed in Bajura due to the magnitude 5.9 earthquake that struck at 2:43 PM on Tuesday.
According to the Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surya Thapa of the District Police Office, so far there have been reports of one house collapse in Badimalika Municipality 7 and 2 houses in 9, and collection work is underway.
According to Rajkala Sarki, Vice President of Himali Rural Municipality, a school building and two houses were destroyed in ward number 6.
Saraki said that there was a problem in getting the details of the damage as there was no telephone contact in other wards.
Chairman of the rural municipality, Gobinda Bahadur Malla, informed that due to the rain and snow since Monday night, there is no telephone network and the details of the damage could not be obtained.
