Financier Ben Goldsmith claims Meghan Markle is disliked because she is a ‘manipulative bully’.

Mr Goldsmith – who is Minister Zac’s brother – made a number of allegations in a series of online posts in response to allegations that the Duchess had been the victim of racism.

One of the three was quickly deleted, but the claim that Meghan had been mean is still visible.

Mr Goldsmith – who was a non-executive board member of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs – said: ‘We are far from perfect, but poll after poll Britons are among the most welcoming and least racist in the world.

“At first, Meghan was adored. Crowds filled the streets at the wedding. Meghan is disliked because she is a manipulative bully who has been exposed.

“Meghan came to personify the arrival of America’s deranged culture wars in Britain. ‘

The Duchess of Sussex has been dogged by allegations of bullying but has always strenuously denied them.

In June, Buckingham Palace said it had “revised” its human resources policies following a report into allegations of bullying by Meghan.

But he added he would never publish the investigation, with a source claiming at the time: ‘The family appear to be terrified of upsetting or provoking Harry and Meghan.’

Allegations emerged 18 months ago following complaints from staff during a ‘toxic time’ before the couple emigrated in early 2020.

‘Broken’ royal aides have told of feeling humiliated, ‘sick’, ‘terrified’, left ‘shaking’ with fear and reduced to tears.

Meghan has been accused of inflicting ’emotional cruelty’ on her staff and ‘chasing them away’. One called the Sussexes ‘scandalous bullies’.

Lawyers for the Sussexes have vehemently denied that the couple bullied or abused staff between late 2018 and early 2020.

Meghan then accused of ‘perpetuating lies’ about her and Harry in their interview with Oprah Winfrey which was released hours after the allegations were published in March 2021.

Royal aides announced in March last year they were launching an investigation into allegations that Meghan’s ‘depreciating’ behavior as a serving royal chased two personal assistants from the household and ‘undermined the confidence” of a third.

Staff were reportedly left in tears and feeling ‘traumatized’ – with some comparing their condition to post-traumatic stress.

The Royal Household has employed a third-party law firm, privately paid for by the family, to investigate the claims in a move some say could heighten tensions between Harry and Meghan and “the institution”.

The allegations have always been strongly denied by the Duchess, whose lawyers described them at the time as a “calculated smear campaign”. They did not respond to requests for comment yesterday.

Last year, a Palace spokesman made it clear that details of the allegations – which were brought to the attention of senior House officials at the time by Harry and Meghan’s relevant press secretary, Jason Knauf – would not be polled.

MailOnline has contacted spokespersons for Meghan but had not received a response at the time of publication.
