You can pitch your camp in the midst of an amazing nature surrounded by flora and fauna. Camping in Coorg- Kota Betta trekking
Coorge is an amazing place to visit in Karnataka and camping in Coorg means you are closer to nature. Kota Betta is located in Coorg and is 33 kilometers away from Sowarmpet. It is located at a height of 5400 feet above sea level, hence a nice place to trek and camp. The trekking takes about 2 hours from the base point. There is also availability of night trek for which you can arrange a guide for trekking. It is considered as a moderate trail as the distance is less but the slope is steep, which makes it difficult. However once you reach the peak it is an awesome experience where you camp in the midst of the greenery surrounded all over with an amazing view of sunrise.
Dandeli camping is 90 kilometers away from Belgaum. It is located in Uttara Kannada that is North Karnataka. You can book a stay in the nearby resort. There are a few resorts available like Dewdrops resort, Bison resort etc. You can also have authentic and commando tents for camping. You can also experience different types of water sports activities in Kali River, which is near Beson resort. Jungle safari is also available at Dandeli Camping in Anshi Tiger Reserve. There is SR Bhagavad sunset point in this whole camping area, which you can visit for evening views. There is Supa Dam on Kali River which is 2nd largest in Karnataka. Hence Dandeli is not about camping but is an all encompassing experience.
It is about 75 kilometers away from Bangalore and 15 kilometers away from Tumkur district. There is Nomads Camp nearby where you can stay and pitch a camp. Other than this there is also enough space for you to have a personal camp on the site. You can also have a great sunset view from Hi-Tea there. In winters it will be covered with fog without any visibility. You can also take a hike from the camping site to reach Devarayanadurga. Though there is no clear path to hike, a guide might come to rescue you. The advantage in trekking here as compared to any other Western Ghats trek is that there are no leeches here. Devarayanadurga is a very spacious area and offers great comfort to the tourists visiting this place.
Kumara Parvatha Camping
Kumaraparvatha is located in the Western Ghats in Karnataka. It is also known as Pushpagiri Hills. The height of the hill is about 5624 feet above sea level. It is 260 kilometers away from Bangalore, the capital city. This trek can be a perfect weekend trek to do as it is quite a long trek of 22 kilometers trail both from up and down. So you can plan accordingly either via car or a bus. The trek commences at Kukke Subramanya Swami Temple, which is a base area. The Forest Office will have a nice area to make a camping area. In Battaramane you can order a meal for that day. In fact, the forest department has arranged a vast base camp here in order to stay. This is an open grassland covered with greenery everywhere. And here on you must take permission from the forest department. They can charge you ₹350-400. An additional charge can be imposed because of the amount of plastic that you carry into the Hills. But don’t worry, you will be refunded as soon as you return the same amount of plastic after your trek.
It is situated in Ramanagara district, which is famous for tourist spots. Here you can visit Kanakapura Nature Camp. It offers calm and beautiful surroundings which are best suitable for family outings. There are some major locations like lake spots for kayaking and other water activities. Apart from camping you can also have a nice trek to Devaragudda Hill preferably in the morning. After 5 kilometers of ascent you can find a cave where you can explore. They also have very good water activities along with a large zipline. Hence, it is also an adventurous camping trip. So do visit Kanakapura Nature Camp if you come across Kanakapura.
