Bra baroness Michelle Mone's six-bedroom Belgravia townhouse is up for sale for £20m

Baroness Michelle Mone (pictured in September 2015) has listed her stylish London townhouse for £20million and is said to be 'keen to sell before the new year'

Baroness Michelle Mone has listed her stylish London townhouse for £20million and is said to be ‘keen to sell before the new year.’

The stunning 6,000 square-foot Belgravia residence was listed for sale earlier this week, estate agent marketing emails reviewed by The Times revealed. The asking price was also reportedly reduced by more than £3million within one day of going on the market.

It is unclear why the 51-year-old Tory peer is looking to sell the six-bedroom property, which boasts a cinema, media room, gym, swimming pool and spa amenities, such as a jacuzzi and steam room.

However, the alleged desire to sell comes as the lingerie tycoon battles accusations that she and her family profited from a £200million deal to provide PPE to the UK Government at the height of the first COVID-19 lockdown in June 2020.

Earlier this year, police also raided two of her London properties, as well as four properties on the Isle of Man, ‘in support of’ an ongoing fraud investigation by the National Crime Agency (NCA).

Lady Mone’s Belgravia home was purchased in 2015 for £11million and is registered to a trust and company incorporated in the British Virgin Islands, according to Land Registry documents obtained by The Times.

Perree Ltd, a company registered at Knox House in the Isle of Man, is listed as the trustee of the property. The Baroness’ husband, Scottish business Doug Barrowman, is the founder of the Knox Group of Companies – which have been previously linked to Perree Ltd.

The estate agency, in a marketing email, reportedly described the seller as ‘motivated’ to secure a buyer. The firm touts the property as being a ‘turnkey house’ situated in a ‘prime position’ in Belgravia.

The home has reportedly underwent ‘extensive’ renovations since it was acquired in 2011. The property has a ‘cutting edge’ design that fuses its classical period features with modern flare.

Her alleged neighbours told the newspaper they would be happy to see her family move away, claiming she is ‘not very neighbourly’ and that her adult children frequently host ‘extremely loud’ parties.

A representative for Lady Mone has reportedly denied that she owns the Belgravia property or stands to benefit from its sale. The representative told The Times: ‘Baroness Mone does not own a home in London and does not know any neighbours in London. Baroness Mone does not live in London.’

Her lawyer, when contacted by MailOnline today, had ‘no comment’ about the alleged property listing.

Despite the reported claims that Lady Mone does not own property in London, The Times alleges she has ‘regularly posted’ photos of herself in the townhouse.

In fact, last year she tweeted a photo of herself reportedly standing in front of the property’s back door that she captioned: ‘If things aren’t going right, make a change.’

The Baroness reportedly has a vast property portfolio. She is said to live in a vast U-shaped manor house on the Isle of Man which her estate agent recently described as ‘possibly one of the finest homes in the British Isles’.

The nine-bed pile boasts a games room, bar, home cinema, air-conditioned library, plus a ‘pool and spa complex which features two treatment rooms, a relaxing spa lounge, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, plunge pool, tropical spa, male and female changing rooms, tanning studio and state-of-the-art gym’.

Outside are 154 acres of gardens and grounds, taking in a tennis court, helipad and ‘amphitheatre’, plus a long carriage drive ending next to a bronze fountain where she once posed for Hello! magazine with Mr Barrowman, 57, a billionaire six years her senior, next to a red Ferrari.

On the morning of April 27 a convoy of police cars, coming as part of an operation to execute simultaneous search warrants on four properties on the Isle of Man, plus another two in London, raided her alleged primary residence.

All six addresses that were investigated have links to either Lady Mone or her husband. One is a Belgravia home she uses as her London base, while another is a Soho office to which several of their companies are registered.

A third is Knox House, an imposing office in the tax haven’s usually sleepy capital Douglas from which the couple conduct business.

Lady Mone’s alleged interest in selling the Belgravia property comes after a yacht linked to her had been put up for sale for £10.25million in September – months after a multi-million-pound refit.

The 130ft vessel, Lady M, was featured regularly as a glamorous backdrop on her Instagram page. It has four guest cabins and room for six crew. Everything from the cream interiors and teak decking to the hull and navigational equipment was refurbished in May.

The yacht, said to be ‘phenomenal’ by sales agent Cecil Wright, is also linked to PPE Medpro. It is still for sale on the Cecil Wright website.

It is owned by a firm registered on the Isle of Man called L M Yachts, whose director is Anthony Page. The employee of Knox House Trust, part of Mr Barrowman’s Isle of Man-based Knox Group, also owns PPE Medpro.

In March, AML Tax (UK) Ltd, also part of Knox Group, was fined £150,000 for withholding records needed to calculate tax bills.

The Charity Commission recently opened a compliance case into the Barrowman Foundation. Set up by Mr Barrowman in 2017 – with his wife as a trustee – it donates to the Prince’s Trust, but had not lodged any donations in its accounts.

Meanwhile, Lady Mone – who was nicknamed ‘Baroness Bra’ after making her fortune in the lingerie trade – is under investigation by the House of Lords Commissioners for Standards for allegedly failing to declare an interest in PPE Medpro and lobbying for it to receive government contracts.

She faced further questioning last week after The Guardian claimed she and her children received £29million in profits from the Covid equipment firm – which she recommended to ministers.

The newspaper claimed leaked bank documents indicated huge amounts of its profits had been transferred by her then-fiancé to an offshore trust of which Baroness Mone and her children were beneficiaries.

It claimed to have seen a report compiled by HSBC suggesting ‘large value inter-account transfers’ originating from PPE Medpro were being routed through offshore accounts belonging to Mr Barrowman.

HSBC declined to comment about the disclosures when asked by the newspaper.

The Baroness has always insisted she neither had any involvement in PPE Medpro nor benefited financially from it.

Her attorney told The Guardian, when asked about the documents: ‘There are a number of reasons why our client cannot comment on these issues and she is under no duty to do so.’

A lawyer for Mr Barrowman and PPE Medpro, citing continuing investigation, added: ‘For the time being we are also instructed to say that there is much inaccuracy in the portrayal of the alleged ‘facts’ and a number of them are completely wrong.’

PPE Medpro – which received £200million in contracts to supply face masks and surgical gowns to the NHS through the Government’s ‘VIP’ lane for companies with political connections – is separately the subject of a fraud investigation.
