The infamous Ottawa, Canada-based McDonald’s, which has seen more than 900 fights in recent years, will be closing its doors after nearly 40 years of service.

Peter Crosthwaite, owner of the Rideau Street building, told CTV the franchise owner decided not to renew the lease, with the restaurant due to close in April.

Constant fights and unruly guests sparked more than 800 calls to police in 2018 alone, leading McDonald’s to abandon its 24-hour schedule, but Ottawa police report they still received more than 150 calls last year.

Despite the fights and unruly customers, Crosthwaite suggested McDonald’s decision not to renew their lease with him was the result of declining revenue not because of the usual chaos, but because of changing infrastructure. from the city.

“The city tore up Rideau Street and put the subway there. Then they tore it up again to make it better, put brakes on it,” Crosthwaite told CTW.

“Freedom rallies and we’ve had COVID, all of these things are upheavals that cannot facilitate a stable and reliable operation.”

McDonald’s Canada did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
