Holly Willoughby laughed awkwardly this Thursday morning after Alice Beer made a sly joke about her age.

The 41-year-old presenter was chatting with the journalist who consumed vegetable milks.

As Alice, 57, gave her Phillip Schofield different milks to try, she said: “Phil, you’re probably from the same generation as me who had the little milk bottles at school.”

But Holly chimed in to say she also had the milk bottles at school.

Alice replied, ‘Do you have the little bottles, Oh, well, you’re older than I thought.’

Holly burst out laughing and said, “Oh no,” while Alice softened the blow by adding, “I love you.”

Holly’s reaction was much better than the one she did on Tuesday, after Phillip unwittingly talked about her.

She was unimpressed when Phil, 60, came on the show in serious conversation on the 20th anniversary of the Bali bombings.

Polly Brooks MBE was talking to the two hosts when the awkward moment happened.

Holly told survivor Polly, “Wow, gosh, and even to…” before Phillip interjected.

Holly then fell silent and was seen pulling her face as she grew frustrated.

A body language expert claimed that Holly felt “suppressed discomfort or irritation” by Phil’s actions.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Judi James said: ‘Holly’s body language response when Philip spoke to her during an interview was familiar to anyone who has been interrupted by their partner at a social event or by a colleague at a business meeting.

“The official response is to smile and move on, but that felt like one interruption too many for Holly, whose facial expression suggested suppressed embarrassment or irritation.

Judi continued: ‘She would never have been rude or unprofessional enough to look up, but they fell down when Philip came in with his own question as she asked hers.

It was a moving interview and Holly had done the right thing in terms of working in a televised double act, which is to make an intentional or announcing gesture before speaking to avoid interference.

She had part-raised a hand, but it seems Philip was also eager to answer her question, and after the thoughtful lowering of her eyes, Holly also pursed her lips to hint at a level of displeasure.

A viewer shared the clip on TikTok and captioned it: “Holly’s eye roll when Phil cuts her.”

One fan wrote in the comments section, “Holly looks unimpressed” while another said, “Ha that look says it all.”

One fan came to Phillip’s defense, writing, “He was probably told to say his lines in his headset like they normally are.”

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Holly Willoughby for comment.

They appear to be moving away from the recent ‘queue’ controversy, which saw Holly and Phil accused of jumping the queue to see the queen lying in state.

Holly and Phil have been subjected to online abuse following the claims and a petition to have the duo fired from their lucrative presenting roles has reached over 75,000 signatures in just over a week.

Ofcom has reportedly received a series of complaints about the queue as irate viewers contacted the regular to demand the pair apologize.

According to The Mirror, Ofcom received 55 complaints this week compared to 209 complaints the previous week.

The week-long fallout from the incident – which spawned hundreds of jokes online at their expense – sparked rival briefing wars, with the presenters’ relationship now strained.

Holly is also thought to be unhappy that ITV didn’t step in sooner to support her, and there has been speculation – since denied – that she may be leaving the show.

After being seen on the official camera feed inside the venue, the pair said they were there to do a segment for the This Morning show which will air four days later.

No TV crew other than the official stream was allowed inside.
