Police who appealed for a wanted criminal have been inundated with messages from smitten admirers saying ‘we’re looking for him too’.
The snap of 36-year-old Robert Rimmer, wanted for drug-related offences, has garnered hundreds of comments, mostly from people hoping to catch him first.
An appeal for information on the fugitive from Humberside Police urged the public not to approach Rimmer, who has links to Hull, Cheshire, Liverpool and Blackpool.
While the police may have hoped to find useful and important information about his whereabouts, they were faced with a fan club of admirers.
Many women have claimed that they could not tell the police where the criminal is if they discovered his tanned and toned physique.

Minutes after CheshireLive posted about Rimmer this morning, a reader commented to describe it as “superb”.
Many said they wanted to find the man before the police and would not mind finding him first.
One woman wrote: ‘Wouldn’t mind approaching him’ and another wrote: ‘So…beautiful, a gym and his own business?’ Ha ha.’
A woman in love said, “If I find him, can I keep him as a guardian and everything else.”
Another joked: ‘He can come and hide in my house no problem’ while another Facebook user wrote: ‘If I see him *. I won’t let you know.
And a misty-eyed admirer added: ‘Wanted: yes indeed. Ooft!’ while another offered her services to the police saying, “I’ll help look for him.”
One woman replied: ‘I live in Hull, I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for him.’
The 36-year-old from Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, is wanted for drug offenses in East Yorkshire.
Louloudrops35 wrote, “I wouldn’t mind knowing where he is either.” This is followed by the tweeter saying he’s on fire using emoticons.
A spokesperson said: ‘Officers wish to speak to him in connection with an ongoing investigation into drug offenses in our area.
“If you see him or know where he is, do not approach him, but call us immediately on our non-emergency 101 line.”
The wanted man is believed to have connections in Liverpool, Chester and Hull.
This is not the first time that the public has emphasized the beauty of a criminal. It’s not just men who have drawn attention to their good genetics.
