India Hicks, King Charles’ goddaughter, has posted a video of her walking through Windsor Castle which appears to have been taken on the day of the Queen’s funeral.

India, who was bridesmaid at the King’s wedding to Princess Diana in 1981, could not be seen in the footage but caught the video as she walked through the grounds of the royal residence .

It’s unclear exactly when the footage was taken, although other guests appear to be dressed in mourning attire and black attire, suggesting it was at the engagement service on Monday afternoon .

The 55-year-old daughter of Lady Pamela Hicks attended the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey on Monday. After the service, she posted photos on Instagram of herself with her mother and said it was a “privilege” to attend the service to bid farewell to the late Her Majesty.

Today the mother-of-five strolled through the Windsor estate behind three people, one of whom was in uniform. The other man and woman were dressed in a mourning costume and a black outfit.

Around them, the ceremonial guards were gathered for what appeared to be business as usual as they prepared to give a salute.

After the state funeral, the royal family announced they would continue to observe a period of mourning for a further week, which is expected to take place privately after Monday’s very public services.

In photos posted to Instagram after the funeral, Hicks wears a fitted black dress with an ornate design, paired with a striking slanted headpiece with oversized floral decoration; the socialite and mother of five also wore tall black suede boots for the historic occasion.

Lady Pamela Hicks, who is Prince Philip’s cousin and daughter of Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, looked directly into the camera for the picture of herself with her youngest daughter.

Dressed in an elegant pleated dress, with patent black loafers and a wide-brimmed hat, the aristocrat denied being 93 years old. Both ladies wore brooches, Lady Pamela wearing a diamond bow brooch, alongside a five string pearl necklace.

Hicks captioned the photos on his social media account saying, “What a privilege.” To have watched the sun go down over Westminster Abbey last night and to return today, alongside my mother, for the State Funeral, followed by the Induction Service at St. George’s Chapel, in Windsor.

Lady Pamela’s father, Earl Mountbatten, was affectionately known as “Uncle Dickie” by Prince Philip and the Queen, and was considered hugely influential in the early lives of both royals.

Through her father, she is a great-great-granddaughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, which also makes her a distant cousin of the Queen.

Lady Pamela has previously shared insight into the Windsors’ family life.

She recalled in a podcast interview last year how the Queen was always “patient” and “kind” to her stepmother, Princess Alice of Battenberg, who could be “very pointed and difficult”.

“I remember she was staying in Windsor and we were waiting to go to lunch,” Lady Pamela recalled. “The squire had come to fetch her to lunch with the queen.

“He was a new squire, a young man of around 20, and he thought he should entertain Princess Alice and talk to her.

‘He recklessly asked, ‘and what did you do this morning, ma’am’, to which Princess Alice replied, ‘And what does that have to do with you?

Lady Pamela also explained that, despite living under the same roof as her son, Princess Alice and Prince Philip led very separate lives.

“She was in her dressing gown, by choice, in the attic,” Lady Pamela said. “While Prince Philip was very busy downstairs.”
