Universal Pictures announced the decision after the Queen of Pop revealed she would be embarking on a 40th anniversary world tour.

Now, The American Sun reports that the biopic, which was greenlit in 2020, was shelved in part due to its insistence on having “almost total” control of the process in addition to its bizarre “circus antics” on social media .
