Forget winter woolies – actress Eleanor Tomlinson braved sub-zero London temperatures in nothing but a little black dress and slingbacks last week.
The Poldark star even managed a smile, despite the very limited protection afforded by her flimsy dress and black stiletto heels.
But the 30-year-old’s fashion choices weren’t her own, as she was shooting scenes for her latest project, the Netflix adaptation of David Nicholls’ bestselling novel One Day. Given that the action takes place in the summer – catching up with her characters every July 15 for 20 years – she could barely wear a hat and scarf to combat the -3C (27F) conditions. In the new series, Ms Tomlinson, who played Demelza opposite Aidan Turner’s Ross Poldark in the BBC1 period drama, will portray an attractive cheater in love.

The main characters Emma and Dexter are university friends who then meet on the same day every year.
Mrs. Tomlinson will play Sylvie, Dexter’s wife, who finds herself in bed with another man while her husband and baby daughter are at home.
The Mail on Sunday first revealed Netflix was doing the show this summer, when Ms Tomlinson was seen filming scenes in south-west London alongside The White Lotus actor Leo Woodall in the role of Dexter.

Emma will be played by Ambika Mod, who starred in BBC medical drama This Is Going To Hurt earlier this year.
One day had already been adapted into a film in 2011, with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess in the main roles. Blackadder star Tim McInnerny would play Dexter’s father, Steven, in the Netflix version.
