29 February, Kathmandu. President Ramchandra Paudel is going to move from his private residence in Bohoratar to Shital Niwas today.
Paudel is scheduled to take oath today at 1 pm. According to the President’s Office, he will stay at Sheetal Niwas after that.
Senior leader of Nepali Congress and former Speaker Paudel was elected to the post of President on February 25th. Outgoing President Bidya Devi Bhandari will bid farewell from Paudel’s swearing-in ceremony.
According to the President’s Office, more than 1,500 guests have been invited to the swearing-in and farewell ceremony.
As soon as the new President Paudel Shital enters the residence, the Nepali Army team will fire a 21-gun salute to welcome him. After that, the swearing-in ceremony will begin. Permanent Chief Justice Harikrishna Karki will administer the oath to the newly elected President Paudel.
After that, outgoing President Bhandari will hand over the presidential seat to Paudel and congratulate her. Other distinguished personalities and guests will also congratulate.
After that, the outgoing President Bhandari will be bid farewell to Sheetal Niwas. Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Sagar Acharya informed that as in the reception of the current President, a 21-gun salute will also be given to the outgoing President.
Outgoing President Bhandari will move from Sheetal residence to her daughter’s residence in Baluwatar today.
Acharya, the spokesperson of the President’s Office, informed that he will be taken to Sasamman Niwas and left.
Earlier, she was told to move to a private residence in Budhanilkanth, but as the house has not been repaired, she is going to move to her daughter’s house.
The repair work of Budhanilkanth, which was damaged by the earthquake of 2072, was said to be completed by February 20, but it has not been completed.
