Tributes to Scott Gormley, 78, of Mail on Sunday, who ‘helped make Financial Mail the best of its kind’

Scott Gormley, senior production reporter at the Mail on Sunday for many years, has died aged 78 after a long illness.
Scott began his career in local Shropshire newspapers before joining the Daily Mirror.
He then worked at the Daily Mail, the Daily Express and finally the MoS, where he became deputy editor before being promoted to production editor and then production manager when the Financial Mail launched on Sunday.

Personal finance editor Jeff Prestridge said last night: “Scott could grab the heart of a financial story in seconds and bring it to life on the page with imaginative display and headlines.
“His exceptional production skills have helped make Financial Mail the best of its kind.”
Scott left the MoS in 2000 and retired to Shropshire where he pursued his passion for golf.
He leaves his wife Tina and daughter Beth.
