Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that he should not be released on the charge of treason.
In the group stage, India lost to Pakistan by 10 wickets. With the victory, Pakistan made history by defeating India for the first time in T20I. Indian police have arrested three Kashmiri students who were celebrating the victory.
After his arrest, Chief Minister Adityanath said on Twitter that “there is an issue of treason against celebrating Pakistan’s victory.”

A case has been registered against him for violating Section 153A, 505 (1) (b) of the Indian Act and Section 66F of the IT Act, 2008. In the FRI, the three students tried to spread chaos by chanting anti-national slogans, which was said to have raised fears of a worsening of the situation. After the tweet of Chief Minister Adityanath, it is said that the process of action has been taken forward by registering a case of treason against him.
This is a detailed thing
Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets on October 24 in the group stage of the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup in Oman and UAE. Along with the victory, the three students from disputed Kashmir talked on WhatsApp like ‘Love you Babur’ and ‘India is not my country, my country is Kashmir’. After a screenshot of the conversation went viral, the college administration suspended him on October 25.
After the news spread, the activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha reached the college and started demanding the arrest of the student. According to the president of the front, the students chanted slogans like ‘Pakistan Zinda Vad’ along with Pakistan’s victory. He also said that there was no place in India for a person who was thinking of “dividing India” as such remarks were anti-India. Police then arrested the three students on October 27.
Shaukat was studying on a Prime Minister’s Scholarship
Shaukat Ahmed Gani, who is studying in the fourth year of engineering, is a student studying on a Prime Minister’s Scholarship. His father has said that he sent his son to study on a scholarship as he was not in a position to pay his son’s fees. He said that he was not in a position to teach higher education by working as a laborer.
Parents worry about their son’s future
The parents of the students do not know exactly what their son did wrong. They only care about the future of their children. When the uncle of Arshad Yusuf, who is studying in the third year, came to visit him in jail, his nephew said that someone had taken a screen shot of the message while chatting with a friend and posted it on social media.
“We are only talking about his future. We only want his release,” said Arshad’s uncle.
Hard to get bail
It was becoming difficult to get bail after lawyers in Agra said they would not advocate for the three arrested students. But now Madhuvan Dutt Chaturvedi has agreed to advocate. However, it is said that it may be difficult to get bail.
Although Chutarvedi is in a position to get bail, he is practically skeptical. “I do not know what will happen in practice,” he said. “I believe the court will not work under the pressure of the government.”
