Riders will be familiar with the Honda PCX 160 and its derivative ADV version, but have you ever wondered what it would be like to fuse the two together? The 2022 Vario 160 released overseas gives the answer. The new model retains its tough looks, has an upgraded four-valve engine and, crucially, is still a flat pedal, which makes it even more in keeping with the image of the perfect scooter.
The Vario 160 still has a striking appearance, with sharp and aggressive lines. Compared to the PCX 160 and ADV 150, it has more sporting elements. The headlights are reminiscent of the CBR-R series, and the air-inlet-like trim on the sides gives the bike a fighting look. The bike is not as feminine as the PCX and not as hardcore as the ADV, but more a combination of the two, but still very good looking.
The Vario 160 is powered by the same 156.9cc single-cylinder, water-cooled, four-valve engine as the new PCX 160. It is only slightly different in terms of output tuning, with a maximum horsepower of 15.4, produced at 8,000 rpm, and a maximum torque of 13.8 Nm, produced at 7,000 rpm. The other two upgrades on the new bike, like the PCX, are in the form of front and rear disc brakes and wider tyres, although unfortunately, as with the domestic PCX 160, there is only single-channel ABS at the front. If you think Honda PCX160 2022 Price is too much for you, then you can kindly take this motor as an alternative.
Other features are not unfamiliar, with Honda’s characteristic full LCD instrumentation, charging port, keyless start, linked brakes and so on. The range is reduced by the change to a flat pedal at the front, reducing the Vario 160’s fuel tank to 5.5L, plus there is not as much storage space under the seats as in the PCX. But this change should be acceptable, after all the flat pedals will be utilised a little more.
The Vario 160 is still a new bike for the South East Asian market, with a similar model, the Air Blade, aimed at the Yamaha Power Six. In the domestic market, while enthusiasts are looking forward to the introduction of the ADV150, they can also learn about the new PCX160’s brother.
